The Bridge Federation of Asia & Middle East (BFAME) is the Zone-4 of World Bridge Federation (WBF) with a membership of 12 countries. The 16th BFAME Championships will be held in Chennai, India at The Sheraton Chola Hotel from Wednesday 25th May’11 till Wednesday 1st June’11. At least nine Open and six Women teams would be vying for the coveted Zakaria Adamjee and the Vinodini Goenka trophies respectively. At least five Seniors (aged 60 +) would also be playing alongside. After the initial double or triple Round Robin qualification rounds (three matches a day) of 16 boards each, semi finals (to be shown LIVE on BBO) of 96 boards (16x6) would be played to determine the finalists in the Open, while the top two teams in Women & Seniors would go straight in the finals.


The Finalists in each category, i.e. two teams each from the Open for the 40th Bermuda Bowl and two teams from the Women for the 18th Venice Cup and two teams from the Seniors for the 6th Seniors Bowl would be representing this Zone and their respective countries in Veldhoven, 5Km south of Eindhoven, Netherlands from October 15th till 29th later this year. The 8th Trans National Open Teams to feature from 24th till 29th October.


During the Championships, there will also be a session of Friendship Pairs, before or after the qualifying rounds of the main Championships while Trans-national teams event may also feature provided we receive sufficient number of teams.
Entry Fee for any one Open, Women or Seniors Team would be US$ 2,000/- each. However, combined entry fee for two or three teams would be US$ 3,500/- or US$ 5,000/-. A discount of US$ 300/- per team is being offered to teams occupying a minimum of two rooms at the venue hotel.


Entry Fee for Friendship Pairs would be US$ 25/- per pair.
